Euro-Mediterranean Youth Platform

OUR WHITE SEA CONFERENCE16 – 22 November 2009Malta Forty one participants coming from Belgium FL, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Malta, Palestinian Authority of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, Portugal, Syria, Tunisia, and Turkey met in Malta for a conference organised by the Euro-Med Youth Platform together with SALTO Euro-Med, the Maltese, Greek and Turkish National Agencies. OUR WHITE SEA Conference was an opportunity for the participants to participate in discussions and workshops which tackled the following issues: o The role and the place of NGOs in the development Youth Policy;o Organisational management: comparative analysis;o Project management;o Funding Tools (YiA & Euro-Med Youth Programme). Mr Ahmed Fouad EL- Karrany and Ms Gehad Amer (Egypt), Ms Miriam Teuma (Malta) and Mr Marco Boaria (Italy) were invited as experts. Their input was taken up as inspiration during the workshops which followed every speaker. SALTO Euro-Med trainers, Mr Bernard Abrignani, Ms Federica Demicheli and Mr Jonathan Bowyer facilitated the participants who led most of the workshops themselves. It was a pleasure for the Euro-Med Youth Platform to host all the participants in Malta. EMYP’s gratitude goes to Mr Hans Hoachim Schild (Partnership on Youth, European Commission – Council of Europe) and Ms Inas Abdelatif (Biblioteca Alexandrina) for accepting the invitation to participate in the conference. Their presence, together with that of Mr Sefa Yahsi (Turkish National Agency), Ms Veronika Janeckova (Czech National Agency) and Ms Ada Corossaniti (Italian National Agency) supported OUR WHITE SEA team. Moreover, their respective contributions were an added value for the conference. More detailed outcomes of the OUR WHITE SEA conference will be published as a report shortly.
